Job summary
FAR EAST GROUP LIMITED in Singapore seeks an experienced Assistant Procurement Manager to support leadership of the Purchasing & Shipping Department. You will oversee procurement, inventory planning, supplier management, and logistics, collaborating with Sales, Finance, Logistics and Warehouse teams to ensure uninterrupted supply.
The role requires a Diploma in SCM or related, 8+ years in procurement or logistics, strong negotiation and ERP skills, and proven experience with overseas suppliers
Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, logistics, or supply chain management.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiation and inventory management.
- Experience working with overseas suppliers, import/export shipments, and freight coordination.
- Strong commercial acumen, analytical skills, and negotiation ability.
- Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Self-motivated, organised and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities with local and overseas suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules for cost-effective purchasing.
- Develop relationships with suppliers and logistics partners.
- Monitor stock levels and coordinate inventory replenishment.
- Collaborate with Sales and Operations on demand planning.
- Oversee inbound/outbound shipments and shipping documentation.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement.
- Prepare procurement, inventory, and supply chain reports for Management.
