Job summary

SOSPIRI PTE. LTD. seeks an experienced wine and beverage specialist to deliver exceptional guest service and expert wine guidance. You will present, open, decant, and serve wines to exacting standards while maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of our wine list and trends.

You will collaborate with the Restaurant team on pairings and menu development, manage wine inventory, train staff, and support beverage sales while ensuring compliance with service procedures and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Proven wine knowledge and service experience.
• Ability to recommend wine pairings and menu suggestions.
• Familiarity with wine storage and inventory practices.

Responsibilities

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide professional wine and beverage recommendations to guests based on their preferences, menu selections and budget.
• Present, open, decant and serve wines according to established service standards.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of the restaurant's wine list, including wine regions, grape varieties, vintages, producers and styles.
• Recommend appropriate wine and food pairings.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of the restaurant's wine list.
• Monitor wine inventory and maintain appropriate stock levels.
• Conduct regular stock counts and assist with inventory control.
• Ensure wines are stored correctly and wine storage areas are properly organised and maintained.
• Assist with wine purchasing, receiving and stock rotation.
• Maintain accurate records of wine movement, breakages and stock discrepancies.
• Work closely with the Restaurant Manager, Beverage Manager and culinary team on wine recommendations and menu pairings.
• Conduct wine briefings and provide wine knowledge training to service staff.
• Assist guests professionally with enquiries relating to wine and beverages.
• Support the service team during restaurant operations when required.
• Maintain high standards of guest service and ensure guest satisfaction.
• Assist in achieving beverage sales and revenue targets.
• Keep updated on wine trends, new producers, vintages and developments within the beverage industry.
• Ensure compliance with the Company's service standards, operational procedures and applicable licensing requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Management.
