Job summary

SOSPIRI PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Wine Service Assistant to support the Sommelier in delivering expert wine recommendations and flawless service.

You will help with opening, decanting, serving, and presenting wines while expanding knowledge of the restaurant's wine list and pairing options. Responsibilities include assisting with cellar organization, stock checks, receiving deliveries, and maintaining impeccable service standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Sommelier in providing wine recommendations and professional wine service to guests.
• Assist with presenting, opening, decanting and serving wines according to established service standards.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of the restaurant's wine list, including grape varieties, wine regions, producers and vintages.
• Assist guests with basic wine selections and food-and-wine pairing recommendations.
• Support the Sommelier in maintaining and organising the wine cellar and wine storage areas.
• Assist with receiving, checking, storing and rotating wine deliveries.
• Participate in regular wine stock counts and inventory checks.
• Ensure wines and beverages are stored at the appropriate conditions.
• Assist in monitoring wine stock levels and reporting low-stock items.
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of wine service equipment and storage areas.
• Prepare wine service equipment before restaurant operations.
• Assist the service team with food and beverage service when required.
• Attend wine tastings, briefings and training sessions to improve product knowledge.
• Learn and understand the restaurant's food menu to provide suitable wine pairing recommendations.
• Assist with promoting wines and beverages to guests in a professional manner.
• Maintain high standards of guest service and professional grooming.
• Follow the Company's operating procedures and service standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Sommelier, Restaurant Manager or Management.
