Job summary

Agrocorp International in Singapore seeks a Chartering Manager for dry bulk cargo flows, Handysize to Panamax with Ultramax focus. Initial desk-based role covers tonnage fixing, cost estimation and contract alignment with AGFA/GAFTA terms.

The role will evolve into time charter-in and relet activities, requiring strong negotiation and risk management. The candidate should have substantial experience in supramax/ultramax trading, knowledge of GENCON/NYPE/Synacomex forms, and a network of owners

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in shipping, maritime studies, logistics, business or a related field.
• 7+ years of dry bulk chartering or shipbroking experience, with direct fixing in Supramax/Ultramax.
• Experience on the cargo side (grain or agri cargoes) and familiarity with related contracts.

Responsibilities

• Fix voyage and trip charter tonnage from Handysize to Panamax, with Ultramax focus.
• Provide freight costing and voyage estimates to trading desks for offers and tenders.
• Align charter party terms with GAFTA/FOSFA contracts (laycan, NOR, laytime, demurrage)
• Negotiate charter party terms and riders on GENCON 94, NYPE 93/2015 and Synacomex forms.
• Negotiate COAs and seasonal cargo programmes with owners and operators.
• Ensure counterparty and vessel pass KYC, sanctions and screening before commitment.
• Hand over fixtures to operations and support laytime desks on demurrage/despatch claims.
• Track freight markets and vessel positions; deliver weekly market view and monthly freight performance report.
• Build and execute time charter-in and relet activity within risk limits; manage positions and hedging if approved.
