Job summary

Redstone Commodity Search is seeking a Mandarin-speaking Chartering Manager for their client in Singapore. The role focuses on dry bulk vessel chartering across Asia, coordinating cargo movements and negotiating market terms with owners, brokers, and traders.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in dry bulk chartering (Handysize to Ultramax), strong knowledge of laytime, demurrage, voyage economics, and a robust regional network to support commercial and logistics teams.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in dry bulk vessel chartering.
• Experience chartering Handysize, Supramax and Ultramax vessels.
• Strong understanding of freight markets and voyage economics.
• Network of shipowners, brokers and industry stakeholders across Asia.
• Fluency in English and Mandarin.

Redstone Commodity Search are working with an established commodity trading company seeking a Mandarin speaking Chartering Manager to join their team in Singapore.

This is an opportunity for an experienced dry bulk chartering professional to play a key role in managing regional freight activities across Asia, supporting the movement of bulk commodities while working closely with commercial, logistics, and operational teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and execute dry bulk vessel chartering activities across Asia.
• Negotiate freight contracts and maintain relationships with vessel owners, brokers, and agents.

Key Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in dry bulk vessel chartering.
• Proven experience chartering Handysize, Supramax, and Ultramax vessels within the dry bulk sector.
• Strong understanding of freight markets, laytime calculations, demurrage, and voyage economics.
• Established network of shipowners, brokers, and industry stakeholders across the Asian dry bulk market.
• Experience handling commodities such as coal, iron ore, metals, alumina, bauxite, cement, clinker, limestone, gypsum, aggregates, fertilisers, steel products, grains, or other dry bulk cargoes.
• Fluency in both English and Mandarin is essential.
