A local children's support organization in Singapore seeks a caregiver to provide supervision and support for children and young persons. Responsibilities include ensuring a safe environment, assisting with daily routines, and providing emotional support. Candidates should possess a minimum GCE ‘A’ Level or equivalent diploma, be fluent in English, and show a passion for working with youth. Flexible hours and night shifts required. This role is vital for maintaining a nurturing environment for residents.
Provide supervision, caregiving and guidance for the children and young persons and taking care of their physical and psychological needs.
To ensure the smooth running of the Home by providing a healing/therapeutic, clean, safe and healthy living environment.
To provide support to the anchor on Emotional Regulation Drill to help residents to control impulsive behaviours when in distressed.
Assisting residents with daily personal routines, including dressing, grooming, eating, and using the bathroom.
Ensuring residents attends school.
Ensure that residents’ movement are accounted for and update accordingly in the Home Management System.
Providing companionship to residents and establishing a trusting relationship with them.
Adopting the Trauma – Informed care by rewarding an encouraging the residents for their good behaviour.
To provide support to the anchor in instilling discipline to ensure the proper maintenance and cleanliness of the bedroom, dormitory and common areas.
Plan and coordinate the daily routine or programmes for the residents.
To escort and supervise youths and children to and from the clinic, the hospital, the school or to attend programmes and activities outside the Home.
Ensuring that residents are taking their prescribed medication.
Ensuring residents’ needs are well taken care of.
Reporting any concerns/ incidents or medical issues.
Respond to incident and report accordingly.
Any other duties assigned.
Minimum GCE ‘A’ Level or college diploma in home country
Able to read, write and converse in English
A degree in nursing/teaching or other related fields from home country
Able to work flexible hours
Has passion and patience for working with children and young persons.
Can work independently, has a pleasant disposition and able to maintain good working relationships with other departments’ staff
Good interpersonal skills to provide emotional support for children
Strong morals and ethics, along with a commitment to children
Working hours subject to roster, require to work night shifts
