Job Description
Support the Vice Dean and Assistant Deans in the Office of Research and Technology (ORT) to develop and grow industry partnerships and engagements.
Strategic Leadership in Industry Partnerships
- Lead the strategic analysis of industry data to identify key sectors and potential partners for collaboration.
- Develop and execute both short- and long-term strategies to engage industry sectors aligned with national priorities and NUS/College of Design and Engineering (CDE)’s research interests.
- Build sustainable, high-impact relationships with industry leaders, ensuring alignment with CDE’s goals and initiatives.
Strategy Execution and Oversight
- Oversee the execution of industry engagement strategies, ensuring successful delivery on time and alignment with ORT goals.
- Manage resources, budgets, and timelines, ensuring strategies are aligned with ORT’s goals.
- Provide leadership to teams involved in partnership execution, ensuring effective coordination and collaboration.
Continuous Monitoring and Evaluation
- Track and assess the outcomes of industry engagement initiatives, refining strategies for continuous improvement.
- Utilise performance data and feedback to adjust strategies and ensure alignment with evolving industry trends.
Expand Industry-Related Educational and Training Programmes
- Lead efforts to enhance and expand the Industrial Postgraduate Programme (IPGP) and other training programs in collaboration with relevant internal stakeholders.
- Develop initiatives that meet both industry needs and academic objectives.
Project Management Excellence
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Proactively address risks, resolve issues, and implement corrective actions to ensure successful project outcomes.
Service Excellence
- Foster a culture of service excellence by ensuring high-quality, efficient, and effective partnership management.
- Establish best practices for industry engagement and ensure consistent service delivery to industry partners.
Stakeholder Reporting and Communication
- Oversee the development of reports and presentations to senior leadership on industry partnership performance.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to provide strategic updates and ensure alignment with organisational goals.
Qualifications
- Recognised bachelor’s degree; a postgraduate degree will be an advantage.
- At least 10 years of experience in research management or industry development within a research setting.
- Strong team player with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and project management abilities.
- In-depth understanding of the local research, innovation and enterprise ecosystem.
- Resourceful, with strong problem-solving capabilities.
