Job summary

The Fresh Senior Manager / Manager plays a pivotal role in elevating store-level performance, quality standards, and operational excellence across our Fresh in-store offering. The role is accountable for driving execution excellence across all Fresh segments, including Fruits & Vegetables, Meat and Fish & Seafood, and Ready-to-Eat.

Key Responsibilities

1. In-store Fresh Performance

• Run shadow P&L to build financial acumen and drive business performance for fresh categories including the counters.
• Monitor sales, margin, shrink, and labour productivity; Partner with store teams to troubleshoot fresh performance issues; identify improvement opportunities and support stores in action planning.
• Lead shrink-management efforts including root-cause identification, store-specific interventions, and best-practice rollout.
• Drive counter performance through operational excellence, ranging optimisation, sales mindset execution.
• Gather and consolidate customer and frontline feedback on Fresh.
• Communicate insights to respective functions to support continuous improvement in assortment, specifications, quality, pricing, and in-store execution.

3. Quality, Compliance & Process Governance

• Develop and maintain checklists for Fresh compliance checks (quality, SOPs, processes, hygiene, equipment readiness).
• Verify product quality, SOP adherence, food safety requirements, and equipment condition during store visits.

4. SOP, Process & Training Development

• Contribute subject-matter expertise toward the development and refinement of Fresh SOPs, processes, and training materials.
• Pilot new processes and provide feedback to improve operational flow and counter execution.
• Deliver structured training programmes for counter staff to strengthen product knowledge, service standards, and operational efficiency.
• Conduct on-ground coaching and follow-ups to ensure sustained skill adoption and consistent Fresh execution.

5. Fresh Setup & Store Projects

• Lead and coordinate Fresh setup for new store openings, refreshes, and renovations, ensuring merchandising, workflow, and equipment meet operational standards.
• Support and contribute to cross-functional projects (e.g., automated replenishment, Fresh transformation initiatives) as required.
