A leading healthcare institution in Singapore is looking for a Senior Manager in Innovation to support the development and implementation of innovation initiatives. The role involves managing relationships with external stakeholders, negotiating partnerships, and developing strategies for commercialization. The ideal candidate should have a general degree, at least 8 years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills. Opportunities exist to work with industry partners and investors, fostering innovation in healthcare.
The Senior Manager, Innovation job responsibilities will include:
1. Support the Director, Innovation Strategy and Coordination and Assistant Director, Innovation to develop papers/policies/process for and implement external-facing innovation initiatives from the SGH Strategic Innovation Masterplan e.g.
a. Innovation partnerships and collaborations (e.g. Industry, Institutes of Higher Learning, Research institutions etc.)
b. Intellectual Property protection
c. Preparing investment pitches
d. Attracting and securing investments (e.g. angel investors, venture capital, crowd‑funding, etc.)
e. Technology Development and Commercialisation (e.g. spin‑offs/startups, licensing, etc.), translation and value capture.
f. Implementation and Adoption
g. Regulatory Affairs (e.g. strategy and planning from end to end)
2. Manages and builds good working relationships with external stakeholders to support innovation:
a. SingHealth Duke-NUS - AMII, SHIP, SCOUT, JCTeD, ALICE, other innovation entities, etc
b. External – industry, funding agencies, investors, family office, IP licensees, regulatory/reporting authorities, Institutes of Higher Learning, Research institutions etc.
3. Establish and sustain a network of technology advisors comprising professionals from both industry and academia.
4. Facilitate the formation of partnerships/ collaborations and negotiate their associated agreements between SGH and diverse partners.
5. Provide counsel and direction to study teams regarding Intellectual property protection and strategies for commercialization.
6. Assist the innovators to source and secure appropriate funding/resources to support the development and commercialisation of identified projects.
7. Connect and collaborate with pertinent stakeholders to facilitate the commercialisation of products and support spin-offs/start‑ups.
8. Identify and drive the high potential projects/products for investment and reaches out to potential partners and investors.
9. Evaluate and prioritise investment pitches.
