Job summary

Helius Technologies in Singapore seeks an experienced IT Business Analyst / Systems Analyst to translate business requirements into practical IT solutions and lead application support activities.

You will collaborate with business users, technical teams and vendors to deliver system enhancements, resolve issues and support implementations. Strong hands-on SQL skills and ownership of issues through to resolution are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems or equivalent.
• 8+ years IT BA/Systems Analyst experience.
• Hands-on SQL, data analysis and issue resolution.
• Experience with enterprise applications, integrations, and SDLC.
• Experience documenting requirements and coordinating testing.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Gather and analyse business requirements and prepare functional specs.
• Engage business users to clarify needs and drive decisions to closure.
• Lead application support, troubleshooting and vendor coordination.
• Write and execute SQL queries for data analysis and issue investigation.
• Own assigned tasks and follow-up actions end-to-end.
• Guide System Analysts and review their analysis and solutions.
• Support system implementations, data migration and production transition.
• Coordinate UAT, defect resolution and sign-offs.
• Maintain specs, project records and support documentation.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced IT Business Analyst / Systems Analyst to translate business requirements into practical IT solutions and lead application support activities.

You will work independently with business users, technical teams and vendors to deliver system enhancements, resolve issues and support implementations. Strong hands-on SQL skills and ownership of issues through to resolution are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and analyse business requirements and prepare functional specifications.
• Engage business users independently to clarify needs, manage expectations and drive decisions to closure.
• Lead application support, including troubleshooting, root-cause analysis and coordination with technical teams and vendors.
• Write and execute SQL queries for data analysis, validation and issue investigation.
• Take end-to-end ownership of assigned tasks, issues and follow-up actions.
• Guide System Analysts and review their analysis and proposed solutions.
• Support system implementations, integrations, data migration and transition to production support.
• Coordinate UAT, defect resolution and business sign-offs.
• Maintain functional specifications, project records and application support documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems or an equivalent discipline.
• At least 8 years of experience in IT business analysis, system analysis, software implementation or application support.
• Strong hands-on SQL skills , including independently writing queries to investigate and resolve issues.
• Good understanding of enterprise applications, system integration, SDLC and IT project delivery.
• Experience in requirements documentation, application troubleshooting and testing coordination.
• Knowledge of IT service request management and software development methodologies.
• Strong communication, stakeholder-management and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and drive issues to closure within tight deadlines.

• Experience in higher education, government or enterprise environments .
• Project management experience.
