Job summary

Direct Search Global is seeking a seasoned Ocean Freight Business Development professional in Singapore. The role focuses on driving growth, identifying new opportunities and expanding revenue across Singapore's ocean forwarding market.

The ideal candidate brings 8+ years in logistics, a proven sales track record with global forwarders, and a strong Southeast Asia-Australia network to sustain long-term contracts and key accounts.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in logistics, specifically Ocean freight business.
• Proven track record in generating new business development/sales accounts.
• Experience with global/top forwarding companies is welcome to apply.
• Experience developing and managing large-scale, long-term contracts and global accounts.
• Strong customer network in Southeast Asia and Australia is a plus.
• Good career progression employment history.

Responsibilities

• Drive business development growth with focus in Ocean freight forwarding.
• Achieve short-term and long-term sales targets; quarterly revenue/profit reviews.
• Identify new business opportunities and generate sales through solicit ocean freight business, mainly in Singapore.
• Promote existing customers’ retention, cross selling and upselling.
• Collaborate with Pricing team to secure competitive rate and space with carrier.
• Report and present sales performance updates during internal meetings.

Job description

• To drive Business Development growth with focus in Ocean freight forwarding
• To achieve both short-term & long-term sales target (performance review is based on quarterly revenue & profit)
• To identify new business opportunities, generate sales revenue through solicit ocean freight business, mainly in Singapore
• Promote existing customers’ retention, cross selling and upselling
• Collaborate closely with Pricing team and keep abreast of the trends on rates of Ocean freight in order to secure competitive rate and space with carrier
• To report and present sales performance update during internal meetings

EXPERIENCE

• 8 years+ experience in logistics, specifically Ocean freight business
• Proven track record in generating New Business Development/Sales account
• Candidate with years of experience working in a Global/ Top forwarding company are welcome to apply
• Experienced in developing and managing large-scale, long-term contracts and global accounts
• Strong customer network connection in Southeast Asia and Australia is a plus
