Job summary

Direct Search Global in Singapore is seeking a results-driven Business Development professional to accelerate Ocean freight forwarding growth. You will target new opportunities, secure long-term contracts and expand key accounts, with a focus on Singapore market.

You will collaborate with pricing teams to offer competitive rates, maintain strong customer networks in Southeast Asia and Australia, and report quarterly results to leadership. Prior experience with global forwarders is valued.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in logistics with Ocean freight experience.
• Proven track record in generating new business/sales.
• Experience in global/top forwarding company is a plus.
• Experience managing large-scale contracts and global accounts.
• Strong Southeast Asia and Australia customer network is a plus.
• Stable career progression in previous roles.

Responsibilities

• Drive BD growth with focus in Ocean freight forwarding.
• Achieve short-term & long-term sales targets (quarterly revenue & profit).
• Identify new business opportunities and solicit ocean freight business, mainly in Singapore.
• Promote existing customers’ retention, cross selling and upselling.
• Collaborate with Pricing team to secure competitive rate and space with carriers.
• Report and present sales performance updates during internal meetings.

• To drive Business Development growth with focus in Ocean freight forwarding
• To achieve both short-term & long-term sales target (performance review is based on quarterly revenue & profit)
• To identify new business opportunities, generate sales revenue through solicit ocean freight business, mainly in Singapore
• Promote existing customers’ retention, cross selling and upselling
• Collaborate closely with Pricing team and keep abreast of the trends on rates of Ocean freight in order to secure competitive rate and space with carrier
• To report and present sales performance update during internal meetings

EXPERIENCE

• 3-5 years+ experience in logistics, specifically Ocean freight business
• Proven track record in generating New Business Development/Sales account
• Candidate with years of experience working in a Global/ Top forwarding company are welcome to apply
• Experienced in developing and managing large-scale, long-term contracts and global accounts
• Strong customer network connection in Southeast Asia and Australia is a plus
