Job summary

Direct Search Global in Singapore is seeking a seasoned Business Development professional to drive growth in ocean freight forwarding. You will focus on identifying new opportunities and expanding revenue through strategic sales initiatives.

You will collaborate with pricing, manage global accounts, and push retention, cross-selling and upselling with existing customers while reporting quarterly performance. This role requires a strong network in the region and a proven sales record.

Qualifications

• 8+ years experience in logistics, specifically ocean freight.
• Proven track record in generating new business development / sales accounts.
• Experience in a Global / Top forwarding company is welcome.
• Experience developing and managing large-scale, long-term contracts and global accounts.
• Strong network in Southeast Asia and Australia is a plus.
• Good career progression history.

• Drive Business Development growth with focus in ocean freight forwarding.
• Achieve short-term and long-term sales targets with quarterly revenue and profit review.
• Identify new business opportunities and generate sales revenue for ocean freight in Singapore.

• Report and present sales performance updates during internal meetings.

Job description

• To drive Business Development growth with focus in Ocean freight forwarding
• To achieve both short-term & long-term sales target (performance review is based on quarterly revenue & profit)
• To identify new business opportunities, generate sales revenue through solicit ocean freight business, mainly in Singapore
• Promote existing customers’ retention, cross selling and upselling
• Collaborate closely with Pricing team and keep abreast of the trends on rates of Ocean freight in order to secure competitive rate and space with carrier
• To report and present sales performance update during internal meetings

EXPERIENCE

• 8 years+ experience in logistics, specifically Ocean freight business
• Proven track record in generating New Business Development/Sales account
• Candidate with years of experience working in a Global/ Top forwarding company are welcome to apply
• Experienced in developing and managing large-scale, long-term contracts and global accounts
• Strong customer network connection in Southeast Asia and Australia is a plus
