The Supreme HR Advisory Pte. Ltd. in Singapore is seeking a proactive Supervisor, Ocean Operations to oversee ocean import and export activities. You will lead the Ocean Operations team, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver high levels of service to key clients.

Responsibilities include supervising shipments, coordinating with overseas offices, carriers and vendors, monitoring KPIs, and coaching staff for operational excellence in freight forwarding.

Qualifications

  • Graduate / bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience specifically in ocean freight operations.
  • Demonstrated experience in ocean freight management and freight forwarding operations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of maritime logistics, international trade regulations, and customs clearance procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills, capable of effectively managing multiple, concurrent ocean shipping tasks.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges promptly and effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to manage relationships with external partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with logistics management software, shipping platforms, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to perform effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy, compliance, and high-quality operational outcomes.

  • Resolve Issues Proactively: Monitor shipment milestones, troubleshoot delays, and maintain accurate documentation (Bills of Lading, customs paperwork).
  • Drive Efficiency: Identify opportunities to improve processes, boost productivity, and maintain high service quality. Team Leadership
  • Empower the Team: Lead, coach, and develop the Ocean Operations staff, fostering a collaborative and customer-first culture.
  • Manage Workloads: Allocate resources effectively to maintain operational continuity and balance team capacity.
  • Grow Talent: Support the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing training of your team members while providing regular performance feedback.
  • Deliver Excellence: Maintain high customer satisfaction by resolving service escalations and ensuring we meet specific customer SOPs.
  • Partner with Sales: Work closely with the Sales and Account Management teams to retain key accounts and drive growth.
  • Ensure Compliance: Uphold company policies and regulatory standards, maintain accurate records, and support operational audits.
  • Monitor KPIs: Track operational performance against established service metrics to ensure we are hitting our goals.
  • Manage Profitability: Oversee accurate billing, capture shipment costs, and support costcontrol initiatives to maintain healthy margins.

Summary:

Our client is seeking a proactive Supervisor, Ocean Operations to oversee ocean import and export operations. The ideal candidate will ensure seamless processing of air shipments, deliver exceptional customer service, and lead the operations/customer service team to achieve operational excellence. This role emphasizes compliance with government regulations, team coaching, and proactive problem-solving to support efficient freight forwarding for our key clients.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Operations & Logistics
