Job summary

Private Advertiser seeks a capable school support personnel to assist in Science and Makerspace activities. You will prepare experimental setups, manage lab materials, and help during workshops, while ensuring cleanliness and safety in two science labs and related facilities.

The role involves assisting with purchases, stock-taking, and logbooks, plus potential deployment to other departments or events as needed. Prior school environment experience is preferred, and basic IT skills are required.

Qualifications

• O Level qualification and basic knowledge of IT applications (MS Word and Excel).
• Able to multi-task and handle a fast paced environment.
• Preferably at least 3 years of working experience in a school environment with some knowledge of laboratory, chemicals and apparatus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare experimental setups for lab activities and trial experiments prior to Science lessons and enrichment.
• Prepare additional apparatus for teachers and assist during Science Workshops.
• Assist with procurement of materials for Science curricula and CCA within budget.
• Maintain cleanliness of the Science Labs and conduct stock-taking of apparatus and resources twice yearly.
• Maintain lab logbooks for classes and for any equipment/chemical issues.
• Prepare the Hydroponics/Urban Farming Facility for planting and harvest, then clean for next cycle.
• Monitor Science Ecological Gardens and replace plants as needed.
• Maintain Laboratory Aquariums including water changes and plant/stock replacement.
• Prepare materials and tools for Makerspace activities; manage 3D printers and digital cutters.
• Provide technical support and ensure safe, clean Makerspace workspace.
• Support in miscellaneous administrative school matters as required by HOD/LH Science/School Admin.
