Job summary

V-SWIFT PTE. LTD. is seeking a proactive school support staff to assist Science labs, Makerspace, and general administrative tasks. You will prepare experiments, maintain lab cleanliness, manage equipment, and support teachers during workshops.

The role requires an O-Level qualification, basic IT skills (Word/Excel), and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced school environment. Candidates with prior school lab experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• O-Level qualification and basic IT skills (Word/Excel).
• Able to multi-task and handle a fast-paced environment.
• Preferably 3 years of work experience in a school environment with some lab, chemical, and apparatus knowledge.
• Candidates without school experience but with comparable skills will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare experimental setups for lab activities and trial experiments, and modify them as required before Science lessons and CCA.
• Prepare additional apparatus for teachers and assist during Science Workshops.
• Assist with purchasing materials for experiments in line with budget requirements.
• Ensure and maintain the cleanliness of the two Science Labs.
• Conduct stock-taking of all apparatus and resources in the Science department at least twice a year.
• Maintain logbooks for class entries to/from the Science labs and for broken/condemned apparatus/chemicals.
• Prepare outdoor/indoor hydroponics/urban farming facilities for planting and harvest, and clean up afterwards.
• Monitor the Science Ecological Gardens and assist in plant replacements.
• Maintain Laboratory Aquariums, including water changes and plant/livestock replacements as required.
• Prepare materials and tools for Makerspace recess activities and workshops.
• Manage and maintain Makerspace equipment, including 3D printers, digital cutters and other tools.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting to Makerspace users.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the Makerspace.
• Support in miscellaneous administrative school matters as required by the HOD/LH Science/School Admin; may assist other departments or events.
