Job summary

WSH EXPERTS PTE. LTD. invites applications for a School Lab & Makerspace Technician role in Singapore. You will prepare and set up apparatus and materials for Science and Maths lessons and Makerspace sessions, and ensure safe disposal of waste after activities.

You will maintain the three labs and makerspace, support teaching with risk assessments, manage stock, liaise with vendors, and assist with general school events and administrative tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

• As directed by the teachers-in-charge, prepare and set up apparatus, equipment and other materials for Science and Maths practical lessons; Makerspace sessions; retrieve, clear away and clean apparatus and equipment, including safe disposal of waste after lessons.
• Provide direct technical support to science and maths teaching in the three laboratories and the makerspace; carry out risk assessments with teachers to ensure safety.
• Keep the three science labs and preparation room, plus the makerspace, clean, sanitised, safe, well-organised and clutter-free.
• Ensure the labs and makerspace are safe and secure when not in use.
• Maintain scientific instruments and ensure supplies are accessible for lessons; report to Heads of Science and Mathematics; assist with establishment and maintenance of department resources.
• Monitor and manage stock-taking of equipment and resource materials.
• Check deliveries and reorder essential items; arrange maintenance/repair of equipment; maintain records/logs of maintenance.
• Perform simple administrative tasks such as maintaining records and inventory, preparing labels and posters for labs, and liaising with vendors for quotations.
• Operate and maintain basic office equipment and material.
• Carry out any other duties assigned by the school, such as reception duties, packing resources, or supporting adhoc tasks for school events.
