The Sales Consultant is responsible for identifying, pursuing, and closing revenue opportunities across custom software development, digital solutions, and ICT Training & Traineeship programs .
Revenue & Sales Execution
- Own and drive the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery to deal closure and handover.
- Achieve and exceed assigned sales targets and revenue KPIs across software and training services.
- Build and execute account and opportunity plans to grow wallet share within existing and new clients.
- Maintain a strong, accurate pipeline and contribute to forecasting and revenue planning.
Solution & Consultative Selling
- Engage customers to understand business challenges, technology needs, and workforce capability gaps .
- Seek opportunities to offer custom software solutions and digital platforms based on clients desired business outcomes.
- Identify and close opportunities where software delivery, training, and ICT traineeship programs can be bundled as an integrated solution or individually.
- Lead discovery sessions, solution workshops, and commercial discussions that drive deal momentum.
- Present tailored solutions that clearly articulate value, ROI, and impact .
Training & Traineeship Solutions
- Actively identify and close opportunities for ICT Training, Learning & Development (L&D) services.
- Position upskilling programs, workforce development initiatives, and ICT traineeships as strategic enablers for clients.
- Work with training and academy teams to define program scope, delivery models, and commercial structures .
- Align training and traineeship offerings with software implementation to ensure adoption and long-term success.
Internal & Partner Collaboration
- Collaborate with software engineering, delivery, and training teams to shape commercially viable proposals and solution designs .
- Support responses to RFPs, RFQs, and ITQs , including solution scope, pricing inputs, and deal strategy.
- Engage ecosystem partners where required to strengthen solution coverage and win probability.
Qualifications
- Diploma/ Bachelor's degree in Business, IT, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in business development preferably in software, or digital solutions.
- Proven sales experience, preferably in software or technology.
- Familiarity with low-code platforms (such as OutSystems, Mendix, or PowerApps) is an advantage.
- Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and how applications move from requirements through deployment.
- Working knowledge of user acceptance testing (UAT) and its role in validating business and technical requirements.
- Ability to recognize project urgency, manage timelines, and align sales activities with delivery milestones.
- Basic understanding of application development methodologies and delivery models.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with technical teams to support customer expectations and commitments.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proactive, self-driven, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
