Job summary

A leading consultancy firm in Singapore seeks a Resident Technical Officer for full-time supervision of construction works. The ideal candidate will supervise complex projects including Grade A office spaces and museums, and must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in the relevant field. Responsibilities include overseeing inspections, coordinating with architects, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards. Knowledge in Microsoft Office is a plus. Qualifications

  • Registered with IES-ACES Joint accreditation Committee as Resident Technical Officer.
  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in mixed development projects.
  • Experience in demolition works and top-down construction.

Job description

Location: Central

Commencement: March 2026

Responsibilities
  • Carry out full time supervision of construction works in architectural and structural discipline in accordance to BCA approved structural drawings in compliance to Building and Control Act and Regulations.
  • Supervision of demolition works such as left in sheet piles, existing basement walls / pilecaps / flat slab and drop panels / driven piles / etc.
  • Supervision of top-down construction with deep excavation and ERSS works such as CBP or SBP wall with steel strutting, bored piling works, LSS, etc
  • Experience in steel construction such as kingposts / steel columns / steel beams with metal decking / steel staircases / steel trusses / specialist items such as balustrades and aluminium works / etc.
  • Experience in supervision of post-tensioned beams.
  • To carry out inspection according to materials specifications and workmanship requirement by Architects/Engineers.
  • Inspection / Supervision of sample tests for materials / workmanship / overseas fabrication yard inspection / etc.
  • Inspection of Defects & Non-conformance and to issue site memo for rectifications.
  • Keeping records of works and reporting to Architects/Engineers.
  • Site organisation, allocation of duties and tasks, and coordinate with Architect for M&E services and structural design that affects architectural and ID works.
  • Attending Client/Consultant's site meeting and technical meeting if required by Client / Consultant / Resident Engineer.
  • Vet and signoff inspection forms and quality related issues including all dry-lays, trade demonstrations, method of statements, mock-ups, defects inspection and rectification follow-up to sign-off, M&E testing and commissioning, handover to Client.
  • Check architectural, ID and landscape works, and intent of design details are followed. To notify Architect of any design intent conflicts and quality variations, illegal works.
  • Monitoring builder’s site management.
  • To take instruction and provide necessary support to Owner’s representative.
  • To work closely with Project QP and Client’s appointed QA/QC engineer to ensure the quality of works as carried out by the Contractor is satisfactory.
  • Duties related to obtaining TOP/CSC/DLP.
Requirements
  • Registered with IES-ACES Joint accreditation Committee ( JAC ) as Resident Technical Officer with a minimum diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
  • At least 7 years or more with relevant experience of mixed development projects that comprises of Grade A office, retail space, museum and theatre.
  • Experience in demolition works, top down construction, deep excavation involving ERSS works such as CBP or SBP wall, strutting, bored piling works, prestressed concrete and structural steel-works are preferred.
  • Experience in architectural and ID related works such as façade, dry lay, mock-ups, water tightness and defects inspection.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel
