Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for enhancing the quality of repaired products and improving productivity. Minimizing the risk of delivering substandard products or missing customer deadlines. Lead initiatives to streamline and enhance the repair process by applying principles of Industrial Engineering and Lean methodologies. Ensure high standards of repair quality and operational efficiency, thereby directly impacting customer satisfaction and business performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and Product Improvement: Identify, plan, deploy, and monitor product and process improvements to eliminate quality defects and enhance delivery performance. Review design/engineering change documents, evaluate test procedures, measurement points, tooling and equipment, and ensure maintenance is performed efficiently across all products.
  • Documentation and Standardization: Support, create, and refine existing repair documentation to ensure consistency among technicians and improve overall process efficiency. Standardize repair and troubleshooting methods to perform work most efficiently, accurately, and cost‑effectively. Perform Work Factor analysis to further enhance operational procedures.
  • Technological Enhancement and Support: Collaborate with shop technicians to improve bench test capabilities and create test alternatives. Design jigs and job aids to enhance productivity and ensure high‑quality repair outcomes.
  • Design Collaboration and Analysis: Work with design engineers to resolve design problems during and post‑product introduction. Perform statistical analysis on product failures, identify trends, and provide feedback to design engineering to minimize warranty expenses. Troubleshoot and analyze root causes of system anomalies or discrepancies in both hardware and software.
  • Continuous Improvement and Training: Drive continuous improvement initiatives by leading training sessions for technicians on new repair techniques and technologies. Foster a culture of lean manufacturing and continuous learning within the team to keep pace with industry advancements and maintain competitive edge.
Key Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Avionics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field from an accredited institution.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in avionics repair or a closely related field is required. Experience should include hands‑on involvement in the design, troubleshooting, and repair of avionic systems and components.
  • Ability to travel to domestic or international locations as required, up to 10% of the time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Knowledge & Skill Requirements
  • Strong foundation in Industrial Engineering. A high degree of understanding of aircraft terms and design requirements, along with familiarity with avionics design.
  • Well‑versed in networking and software skills, including familiarity with TCP/IP protocols, IP addressing, network design, and various wireless technologies.
  • Ability to write simple programs/scripts is desired.
  • Capability to design jigs and write drawings in a 3D CAD environment, demonstrating a practical understanding of digital design tools.
  • General knowledge of analog/digital circuits and RF components is important for troubleshooting and repairing avionics systems.
  • Ability to develop efficient, reliable repair solutions.
  • General knowledge of computer databases such as MySQL and Oracle is beneficial for managing and analyzing large datasets related to repair operations.
  • Proficient ability to conduct technical research, analyze complex data, and derive practical solutions.
  • Demonstrated good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions and using independent judgment to ensure that projects and assignments are completed accurately and on time.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are mandatory.
  • Ability to convey technical information clearly and effectively, interfacing with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to have regular interactions with internal and external personnel on technical or administrative matters requiring seasoned experience and a full understanding of industry practices and procedures.
