Overview
The Renewable Energy System Project Sales Engineer is responsible for driving sales and supporting end-to-end project delivery across renewable energy solutions, including fast and commercial EV chargers, solar panel systems, and small-to-medium energy storage systems for solar-connected homes and EV stations. This role requires a strong blend of technical knowledge, customer engagement, and project coordination to support the company’s growth in the sustainable energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, engage, and secure new business opportunities across the various product offerings.
- Lead outreach activities, including prospecting, cold calling, structured email engagement, and follow-ups.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with stakeholders such as property developers, condominium management, commercial stakeholders, and homeowners.
- Manage the full sales cycle independently across various business models.
- Ensure timely collection of payments and follow up on outstanding invoices.
- Oversee planning, coordination, and implementation of all the projects across the various product offerings.
- Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, operations, procurement) and external partners to ensure smooth and timely project completion.
- Manage customer contracts, upgrades, system expansions, ongoing site enhancements, and sales pipeline.
- Provide clients with technical guidance across the various product offerings.
- Conduct site surveys, feasibility/technical assessments etc to determine optimal system designs.
- Support both pre-sales and post-sales technical enquiries.
- Prepare competitive quotations, proposals, and lead in the tender submissions.
- Work closely with internal departments to develop customised solutions based on site conditions and client requirements.
- Research on market trends, and offerings etc for the development of sales strategies.
- Ensure all projects comply with regulatory, industrial standards, and requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation for proposals, contracts, project records, and sales activities.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related discipline).
- Solid understanding of renewable energy technologies, including solar PV, EV charging systems, and energy storage solutions.
- 4-5 years of experience in project sales, technical sales, or project coordination within renewable energy, electrical engineering, or related fields.
- Proactive, self-driven, and with a strong business development mindset.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present and explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Independent problem-solver with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- PMP or relevant renewable energy certifications are desirable.
- Experience in handling multiple client engagements or projects, and working on government tenders is an advantage.
