Overview
We are seeking a Regional Operations Manager to (1) lead end-to-end operations for our Singapore outlet(s) and (2) support regional expansion into Malaysia and Indonesia through franchisee engagement, operational readiness, and contract/commercial discussions with company Directors. This role requires strong multi-functional operations capability spanning outlet performance, kitchen execution, service quality, supplier/vendor management, and regional stakeholder communication.
Responsibilities
- Singapore Operations Leadership (Outlet / Multi-function): Own daily outlet operations: opening/closing, staff deployment, production planning, peak-hour controls, and service recovery.
- Drive outlet KPIs: revenue, gross margin, food cost, waste reduction, service speed, customer satisfaction, hygiene/audit performance.
- Implement and maintain SOPs for front-of-house and kitchen workflows; ensure consistent product quality and portion control.
- Manage vendor/supplier relationships: ordering, stock control, replenishment planning, invoice checks, and issue resolution.
- Lead in-outlet marketing execution (campaign rollouts, promotions, local partnerships), and coordinate with internal marketing resources.
- Kitchen Execution and Coverage (Hands-on): Be able to step in as a hands-on kitchen lead/chef when required (e.g., chef absence, peak operations, new product trials).
- Supervise production of core menu categories including (but not limited to): pizza, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, chizza, chicken strips, and other QSR items.
- Demonstrate capability in Indian spice formulation / seasoning development and standardisation of recipes (consistency, yield, cost, and flavour profile).
- Ensure safe food handling, storage, temperature controls, and allergen management; maintain kitchen discipline and hygiene standards.
- Regional Expansion Enablement (Malaysia & Indonesia – Franchise Readiness): Support franchisee opportunity discussions and follow-ups together with company Directors; Prepare operational materials (SOP packs, training plans, menu specs, kitchen layout guidance).
- Help assess franchise readiness, operational capability, and compliance needs.
- Participate in commercial discussions (as required) and help translate operational requirements into franchise terms (training, quality controls, supply chain, branding consistency).
- Coordinate cross-border operational planning: supply chain considerations, staffing/training approach, customer service standards, and rollout timelines.
- Stakeholder Management and Executive Communication: Engage confidently with senior Directors and internal stakeholders; produce structured updates, performance reports, and action plans.
- Manage difficult conversations professionally (service escalations, vendor disputes, franchisee expectations, compliance gaps).
- Kitchen / Menu Asset Ownership (Must): Own and standardise PizzaFun’s core menu assets, including Indian traditional spice formulation for sauces, marinades, seasonings, spice blends, and other proprietary flavour components used across the PizzaFun menu.
- Translate spice/sauce formulations into repeatable SOPs (batch recipe, yield, shelf-life, storage, HACCP/food safety handling, and training guides) to ensure consistent replication by kitchen teams and franchise partners.
Qualifications
- Education (Must): Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration (or closely related discipline such as Operations Management, Hospitality, Supply Chain, or equivalent).
- Relevant Experience (Must): Minimum 1 year experience in F&B/QSR operations management, with accountability for: Day-to-day outlet operations, manpower planning, service standards, and incident handling; Vendor management, ordering, stock control, food cost control, and waste management; Performance management of frontline teams, including training and shift leadership.
- Hands-on Culinary & Proprietary Menu Asset Capability (Must): Demonstrated ability to personally execute and supervise QSR kitchen operations, including production oversight for Pizza, burgers, wraps, sandwiches, chizza, chicken strips, and other core menu categories. Indian traditional spice-making capability is mandatory, specifically: Creating and standardising sauces and proprietary spice blends (spice formulation, taste consistency, yield control, scalability, storage handling). Training staff to reproduce recipes consistently and safely, including quality checks and documentation.
- Food Safety (Must): Must possess WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 and Level 2 (or SFA-recognised equivalent), and be able to lead outlet food safety compliance (storage, temperature logs, hygiene, audit readiness).
- Language Proficiency (Must): Must be able to speak and write English fluently. Must be able to speak fluently Mandarin/Chinese, Malay, and Bahasa Indonesia fluently. This is required due to regular communication with English, Chinese- and Malay/Bahasa-speaking franchise partners, suppliers, and stakeholders in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia, including operational training, service issue resolution, and franchise discussion support.
- Verification (Must): Provide proof of professional fluency through recognised language certification and/or demonstrated work experience in business communication/negotiation in these languages (to be assessed during interview and practical scenarios).
- Microsoft 365 Productivity Skills (Must): Proficient in Word, PowerPoint, Excel for SOP documentation, training decks, vendor briefs, franchise briefings, leadership updates, and basic reporting/costing/inventory analysis.
- EPOS / POS Systems Management (Must): Proven hands-on experience configuring and managing an EPOS/POS system, including menu and modifier setup, pricing and promotions, outlet reporting, and end-of-day reconciliation support; basic troubleshooting and vendor coordination for system issues.
- Mobility (Must): Willing and able to travel to Malaysia and Indonesia for franchise/operator meetings, onboarding and operational readiness activities as required.
