Job summary

MKS GLOBAL PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Quantity Surveyor (M&E / ID) to handle pre- & post-contract duties, tendering, budgeting and cross-functional cost planning for commercial fit-out projects.

Responsibilities include take-offs, BQ preparation, cost control, VO evaluation and supplier coordination. English proficiency and a minimum of 3 years in related interior design/renovation are required.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Quantity Survey or Building or equivalent.
• Proficient in English.
• At least 3 years of experience in related commercial interior design or renovation field.

Job description

Title: Quantity Surveyor (M&E / ID) (Commercial Fit-out)

JOBSCOPE

1. Pre- & Post-Contract Duties

• Perform full spectrum of Quantity Surveyor responsibilities including:
• Taking off quantities from drawings
• Preparing Bills of Quantities (BQ)
• Evaluating and managing variations (VO)
• Finalization of project costs
• Contract administration and documentation
• Prepare detailed cost estimates for MEP projects
• Analyze and evaluate project specifications and drawings to determine the scope of work and associated costs
• Perform quantity take-offs for materials and labour required for MEP installations

2. Tender & Sales Support

• Prepare and submit detailed cost estimates and tender bids for office renovation projects
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely and competitive tender submissions
• Support sales efforts by providing budgetary advice, pricing strategies, and value engineering suggestions
• Engage in tender clarification meetings and follow-ups as required

3. Budgeting & Cost Control

• Develop comprehensive budgetary quotations for corporate clients
• Monitor project costs against budgets to ensure financial targets are met
• Propose cost-saving solutions without compromising quality or client expectations

4. Supplier & Vendor Coordination

• Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers, subcontractors, and equipment providers
• Negotiate pricing and terms to achieve best value for the company and clients
• Build and maintain strong relationships with both existing and new vendors

5. Cross-Functional Coordination

• Work closely with the Sales and Design teams to ensure alignment between cost planning, design intent, and client expectations
• Ensure all financial and resource requirements are clearly communicated and met across department

REQUIRED ABILITIES, SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE (ASK)

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma/Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Professional Degree in Quantity Survey or Building or its equivalent.
• Required language(s): English
• At least 3 Year(s) of working experience in the related commercial Interior Design or Renovation (not construction) field is required for this position.
• Required Skill(s) & Characteristics: Independent and Pro-active to monitor for company, Self-motivated, Resourceful, Meticulous
• Preferably an experienced Executive specialized in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
