Job summary

Singapore Public Service is seeking an Engineer/Senior Engineer (Electrical) at Changi Water Reclamation Plant to treat used water into NEWater and ensure safe discharge to the sea. You will work with a team of engineers and contractors to implement maintenance strategies that keep critical equipment running safely and efficiently.

You will contribute to safety, efficiency, and reliability improvements, while using asset management systems for procurement and inventory control.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Willingness to respond to urgent situations outside normal hours.

Responsibilities

• Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance for M&E and auxiliary equipment safely.
• Assist in maintenance plan and budget, procure spares, monitor inventory and expenditures.
• Respond to equipment abnormalities and follow SOPs when required.
• Utilise Asset Management System for procurement, contract management, asset and inventory management.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and reliability.
• Manage and implement maintenance contracts to ensure contractor work meets objectives and budgets.

What the role is

As an Engineer/Executive Engineer/Senior Engineer (Electrical) at Changi Water Reclamation Plant, you will play a vital role in treating used water to produce high-quality NEWater and ensure safe discharge to the sea. Working alongside a team of engineers and contractors, you will implement various maintenance strategies to keep critical water treatment equipment running safely and efficiently. What you will be working on

• Work with engineers and contractors to perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance works safely for M&E and auxiliary equipment in used water treatment processes.


• Assist supervisor to devise maintenance plan and budget, procure essential spares, monitor spares inventory and utilisation of expenditures


• Respond to equipment abnormalities and carry out SOP when required.


• Utilise enterprise systems such as the Asset Management System for procurement, contract management, asset and inventory management


• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving safety, efficiency, and equipment reliability


• Manage and implement maintenance contracts to ensure works performed by contractors are executed according to objectives and within budget

What we are looking for

• Comfortable with working in used water environment and physically able to perform site works


• Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies such as partial discharge and its basic application for equipment maintenance will be an advantage
