Job summary

PUB Public Utilities Board is hiring an Assistant Engineer/Senior Assistant Engineer (Mechanical) for the Changi Water Reclamation Plant. The role focuses on maintaining critical water treatment equipment to ensure safe discharge and high-quality NEWater production.

Ideal candidates hold a Mechanical Engineering diploma, can work independently or in a team, and adapt to urgent on-call situations. Experience with vibration monitoring is a plus; the job site is at Changi Water Reclamation Plant.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Able to work independently and a good team player.
• Able to respond to urgent situations outside normal working hours.
• Comfortable with working in used water environment and physically able to perform site works.
• Familiarity with predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration monitoring will be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on M&E and auxiliary equipment in used water treatment processes.
• Assist supervisor to procure essential spares and monitor spare inventory and expenditures.
• Respond to equipment abnormalities and follow SOPs as required.
• Utilise Asset Management System for procurement, contract management, asset and inventory management.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, efficiency, and equipment reliability.

As an Assistant Engineer/Senior Assistant Engineer (Mechanical) at Changi Water Reclamation Plant, you will play a vital role in treating used water to produce high-quality NEWater and ensure safe discharge to the sea. Working alongside a team of engineers and contractors, you will implement various maintenance strategies to keep critical water treatment equipment running safely and efficiently. Responsibilities

• Work with engineers and contractors to perform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance works safely for M&E and auxiliary equipment in used water treatment processes.
• Assist supervisor to procure essential spares, monitor spares inventory and utilisation of expenditures.
• Respond to equipment abnormalities and carry out SOP when required.
• Utilise enterprise systems such as the Asset Management System for procurement, contract management, asset and inventory management.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on improving safety, efficiency, and equipment reliability.
