A leading research university in Singapore is seeking up to three Programme Leaders to join the Early Mental Potential & Wellbeing Research Centre. Candidates will provide scientific leadership for research in child health and oversee the Centre's core activities. A PhD in relevant fields, a strong research publication track record, and teaching experience are essential. The Early Mental Potential & Wellbeing Research (EMPOWER) Centre at Nanyang Technological University invites applications for up to three (3) Programme Leaders who will be appointed to the rank of Fellow/Senior Fellow/Principal Fellow as commensurate with experience and may additionally hold the title of Research Assistant Professor through competitive award.
The Early Mental Potential & Wellbeing Research Centre’s mission is to maximise every child’s mental and emotional capital by uplifting neurodevelopmentaltrajectories during early sensitive periods through interdisciplinary discovery science and translational technologies. The Centre has 3 major activities and thrusts:
We are looking for scientists with exceptional promise to join the Centre as Programme Leaders. Up to three (3) outstanding candidates will be appointed to the rank of Fellow/Senior Fellow/Principal Fellow as commensurate with experience. Eligible applicants will additionally be nominated to apply for the University Research Assistant Professorship scheme (https://www.ntu.edu.sg/research/research-careers/research-assistant-professorship-(rap)) and may hold this rank for the duration of their appointment with the Centre.
The EMPOWER Centre's current portfolio of research is worth in excess of SGD$20 mil (USD$15 mil). Programme Leaders will be expected to provide scientific leadership for on-going basic research, translational and commercial programmes in child health under the Centre's remit. Indicatively, we are looking to appoint one Programme Leader to oversee and expand each of the Centre's core thrusts. Programme Leader will be supported to develop own research programme and to obtain independent research funding, within the EMPOWER remit.
Programme Leader will work closely with EMPOWER’s Director, Professor Victoria Leong, as well as with local and international collaborators, as part of a diverse and talented international research team. Programme Leader will also assist with supervision and teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate level.
