Job summary

A marine engineering firm in Singapore is seeking an experienced engineer to independently lead the development of Power and Automation design solutions. The ideal candidate must have at least 6 years of experience in the marine or offshore sector, a relevant degree or diploma, and proficiency in AutoCAD and other design tools. You will oversee the integration of complex marine electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and timely project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years of engineering design experience in the marine or offshore sector.
  • Strong knowledge of IEC/IEE/NEC standards and class rules.

Position Summary

Independently lead the development of Power and Automation design solutions that meet Class standards and technical specifications, ensuring timely delivery across assigned project scopes.


Tasks and Responsibilities


  • Oversee the complete design, review, and integration of marine electrical power systems, automation systems, and navigation/communication systems.

  • Review and analyze short circuit, harmonics, protection coordination, discrimination, and FMEA studies.

  • Prepare and/or validate single line diagrams, control system topologies, load analysis, voltage drop calculations, lighting/lux studies, and equipment technical specifications in accordance with project and classification requirements.

  • Produce detailed engineering designs including schematics, layouts, cable routing plans, and termination drawings.

  • Work collaboratively with cross-discipline teams, vendors, owners, and classification bodies to identify issues, propose solutions, and ensure smooth project execution from design to delivery.


Experience & Educational Qualifications


  • Minimum 6 years of engineering design experience in the marine or offshore sector.

  • Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Marine, or relevant engineering discipline.


Character and Skill Attributes - Nice to have


  • Strong knowledge of marine power, automation, and navigation systems.

  • Well-versed in IEC/IEE/NEC standards and class rules.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and AVEVA.

  • Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork abilities.
