Job summary

Crane Worldwide Logistics is seeking an Operations Executive for Cross Border & Traffic Control in Singapore. You will coordinate and manage cross-border road freight shipments, ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-efficient transport between Singapore and neighboring countries.

You will oversee end-to-end operations, plan routes, liaise with drivers and warehouses, prepare documentation, and maintain records while delivering strong customer service and effective cost control.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in freight forwarding or cross-border trucking operations.
• Knowledge of Singapore–Malaysia cross-border procedures and customs regulations.
• Knowledge of HS codes and tariff classifications.
• Familiarity with GPS tracking systems or Transport Management Systems (TMS).

Responsibilities

• Manage daily end-to-end road freight operations, coordinating cross-border truck movements.
• Plan and execute cross-border road shipments for FTL and LTL to optimize routes and costs.
• Coordinate with transporters, drivers and warehouse teams for pickups and deliveries.
• Prepare and verify shipping documents including permits, invoices and packing lists.
• Apply for local and overseas customs permits for cross-border trucking.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore and other countries customs regulations and cross-border requirements.
• Monitor shipment status and resolve delays, clearance issues, or disruptions.
• Communicate shipment updates and exceptions to customers.
• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure smooth operations.

Description

The incumbent is responsible for coordinating and managing cross border road freight shipments between Singapore and neighboring countries (Malaysia, Thailand or beyond) and day-to-day movement of freight. This role involves end-to-end operational coordination, ensures timely, and cost-effective transportation, compliance with customs regulations, and maintaining high customer service standards with the objective of achieving operational and service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Managing the daily, end-to-end road freight operations, including planning, scheduling, and monitoring cross-border truck movements. Manages and coordinates the day-to-day movement of freight, trucks, and drivers to ensure timely deliveries.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute cross-border road freight shipments for both FTL and LTL with the objective of optimizing routes, schedules, and cargo loads to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
• Liaise and coordinate with transporters, drivers, and warehouse team for pickup and delivery arrangements.
• Prepare and verify shipping documentation (e.g., permits, invoices, packing lists, customs declarations).
• Application for local and overseas customs permits for cross-border trucking.
• Ensure compliance with Singapore and the relevant country’s customs regulations and cross-border requirements.
• Effectively monitor shipment status and proactively resolve delays, clearance issues, or operational disruptions.
• Communicate with customers on shipment updates, delivery schedules, and exceptions.
• Coordinate with internal departments, including operations and customer services, to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

• Possess effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• At least 2 years of experience in freight forwarding or cross-border trucking operations.
• Good knowledge of Singapore–Malaysia cross-border procedures and customs regulations.
• Knowledge of TradeNet and/or customs declaration systems.
• Strong coordination and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Possess Tertiary qualifications.
• Knowledge of HS codes and tariff classifications.
• Familiarity with GPS tracking systems or transport management systems (TMS).
• Knowledge freight costing and pricing.
