Job description
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Work from process travelers and operation sheets to perform local swab etch before FPI on aircraft engine components. Prepare FPI Processing on aircraft engine components for testing.
  • Review test orders to determine type of etching/ process required and able to work in a chemical environment.
  • Apply proper agents such as etching acids, cleaners, penetrants and developers etc to prepare for testing.
  • Follow prescribed procedures for non‑destructive testing swab etch & FPI.
  • Ensure all gauging and measuring equipment is within calibration before used.
  • Record all information in logbook.
  • Preform testing operations following specific procedures outlined in manuals, identifying etching & FPI locations.
  • Perform daily checks on test equipment calibration.
  • Perform initial etch and swab etch.
  • Perform visual inspection of braze, initial etching and swab etching.
  • Complete all required paperwork, records and sign offs.
  • Participate in special investigations, team audits and process reports for corrective action.
  • Detect faulty operations and materials and report these and other problems to immediate Cell Leader.
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices on machines and in work area.
  • Wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Comply with all company and safety rules and regulations during course of duties.
