Job summary

A leading healthcare institution in Singapore is seeking a Medical Laboratory Scientist for the Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory. The ideal candidate will perform laboratory investigations and ensure test results are accurate and timely. Candidates should have a degree in Biomedical or Life Sciences, with at least 5 years of relevant experience. Proficiency in specialized chemistry testing (HPLC, LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS, Protein Electrophoresis) is advantageous. This role requires good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Job Description

We are looking for a highly committed, dynamic and driven individual to join the Clinical Biochemistry Laboratory at the Singapore General Hospital.

  • Perform routine or complex laboratory investigations on biological specimens using a wide range of specialized equipment according to established policies/procedures and quality assurance practices
  • Ensure that accurate and high-quality laboratory test results are reported and communicated in a timely manner
  • Apply scientific knowledge and technical skills to support and troubleshoot laboratory test procedures, analyzer maintenance, and workflow and operational issues
  • Participate in development of new and/or innovative laboratory tests and implementation of state-of-the-art technologies for laboratory testing
  • Provide training to laboratory personnel on laboratory test procedures
  • Lead team members in specified laboratory functions to ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation requirements
Requirements
  • Degree in Biomedical Science, Life Sciences or equivalent, with minimum 5 years of work experience in Clinical Laboratories
  • Candidates with significant years of relevant work experience will be considered for senior positions
  • Experience in Specialized Chemistry laboratory testing (HPLC, LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS, Protein Electrophoresis will be an advantage)
  • Possesses positive work attitude and is responsible, meticulous, and efficient
  • Works well independently, in a team and/or in a leadership role
  • Has good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and perform rotating shifts
