Role Overview

Responsible for leading mechanical design tasks (2D/3D), supporting day-to-day project execution, and coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure marine project success.

Responsibilities

• Handle mechanical design independently and lead assigned project sections.
• Support Section Lead in daily project activities and progress tracking.
• Ensure mechanical tasks meet quality standards and deadlines.
• Advise on design approach, technical standards, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Guide and collaborate with junior engineers and draftsmen.
• Troubleshoot design issues and provide engineering solutions.
• Attend meetings, track deliverables, and maintain project discipline (e.g., man-hour tracking).
• Develop and review mechanical calculations, drawings, and 3D models for marine piping/machinery systems.
• Coordinate with shipyards, consultants, and vendors.
• Support a variety of projects: newbuilding, repairs, upgrades, and conversions.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in marine mechanical/piping design; 2+ years in a senior role.
• Skilled in AutoCAD, AVEVA, and MS Office.
• Knowledgeable in class rules and HVAC/piping systems.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
