A technology consulting firm in Singapore is seeking a skilled Materials Process Engineer to develop and sustain manufacturing processes for new products. The role involves collaboration with ODMs and contract manufacturers to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing efficiency. Candidates should have proven experience in process engineering, particularly in optimizing yield and designing mechanical fixtures for mass production. The Materials Process Engineer is responsible for establishing, developing, and sustaining manufacturing processes for new products across the entire product life cycle. This role partners closely with original design manufacturers, contract manufacturers, vendors, and internal cross-functional teams to ensure scalable, cost-effective, and high-yield manufacturing through strong process engineering, fixture design, SMT expertise, and design for manufacturability.
Proven experience establishing and maintaining manufacturing processes from NPI through sustaining
Strong background working with ODMs, Contract Manufacturers, and vendors
Hands‑on experience in process engineering for cycle‑time, yield, and cost improvement
Expertise in Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
Experience designing or specifying mechanical fixtures for mass production
Working knowledge of SMT (Surface Mount Technology) processes and yield improvement
Ability to influence product and electrical design for manufacturability and reliability
Manufacturing process development and optimization
Cross‑functional collaboration with design, quality, reliability, and commodity teams
Data‑driven continuous improvement
Supplier and vendor technical problem‑solving
Process validation and scale‑up readiness
Establish, deliver, and maintain manufacturing processes for new products throughout the product life cycle
Partner with ODMs, CMs, and vendors to prioritize and resolve manufacturing issues
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cycle time, improve yields, and lower costs
Lead mechanical fixture design efforts to accelerate readiness for mass production
Provide DFM guidance and influence product and electrical engineering teams
Support component down‑selection, sourcing, qualification, and vendor integration
Collaborate with Quality and Reliability teams to define shipment requirements
Serve as SMT process engineer to streamline SMT operations
Define key SMT process parameters and validate processes for scale‑up and yield improvement
