Job summary

The National University Health System seeks a seasoned professional to lead clinical governance and risk management for RHSO and its partners. You will oversee governance boards, credentialing processes and policy development while driving quality and safety initiatives across the Western Region.

Through strong stakeholder engagement, you will monitor indicators, manage incidents, and support continuous clinical improvement in a complex healthcare environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare or Life Sciences or equivalent.
  • Experience in healthcare quality improvement and risk management.
  • Strong stakeholder management, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to prepare and present policy papers and proposals.
  • Experience with governance structures and clinical dashboards is a plus.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Secretariat for the RHSO Clinical Governance Board and sub-committees.
  • Drive alignment with national healthcare regulations and NUHS policies.
  • Coordinate licensing queries and credentialing activities for clinicians.
  • Develop and revise clinical governance policies, manuals and work Instructions.
  • Support quality improvement, patient safety indicators and incident management.

Job description

Overview

The Job Holder will develop and implement strategies to improve the quality and safety of the clinical services delivered through RHSO and/or its partners to the community in the Western Region, including overseeing clinical risk management activities. The Job Holder will also be responsible for the management of quality improvement training and programmes in RHSO.

Job Responsibilities
  1. RHSO Clinical Governance Board and other sub-committeesAs lead secretariat, workwith Medical Director todrive meaningful agendas and discussionsPrepare necessary meeting materials and slides, and disseminate to relevant stakeholders in a timely mannerEnsure clinical governance structures (CGB and sub-committees such as Credentialing & Privileging Committee), including are well established and effective.Track and ensure that issues raised are followed up and addressed timely, and work plans are implemented per agreed milestones.
  2. Clinical GovernanceEvaluate implications of and ensure compliance/ alignment with national healthcare regulations and NUHS cluster clinical policies or standards.Coordinate activities related to licensing and serve as liaison person for any queries on licensing.Work with key process owners and stakeholders on the development and revision of clinical governance policies, procedure manuals and work instructionsSupport credentialing and privileging process for clinicians (e.g. Advanced Practice Nurses, Collaborative Prescribing Practitioners).Support in the design and formulation of clinical dashboard indicators for accountability and monitoring of quality and patient safety indicatorsSupport cluster-level committees and initiatives for quality and patient safety
  3. Clinical risk managementWork with stakeholders to identify and manage clinical risks as part of RHSO’s clinical risk register.Work with clinical leads to develop strategies for mitigation of clinical risks.Maintain system for reporting of incident reporting and management of medico-legal complaints.Facilitate and ensure timely escalation and reporting of clinical incidents and complaints.Support investigation of clinical incidents, complaints and/or any non-compliance to clinical care standards
  4. Clinical Service Review and Quality ManagementReview the quality and effectiveness of clinical services (e.g. through system audits and monitoring of clinical quality and safety indicators)Effectively manage and drive clinical quality improvement/ assurance training and programmesIdentify opportunities and work with internal and external partners to drive continuous clinical quality improvement and standards in the community
  5. Any other task as assigned
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degreepreferablyin Healthcare or LifeSciences
  • 6-8 years of relevant working experience, preferably with 1 years in a leadership position
  • Experience in healthcare services and possess practical knowledge of clinical processes to identify areas for clinical quality improvement and mitigation of clinical risks.
  • Experience in managing medical affairs, clinical governance and/or quality management portfolio.
  • Exposed to preparation of presentations/policies/proposals/papers
  • Strong in stakeholder management, with good analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good oral, written and presentation skills.
