Manager/ Assistant Manager (Conservatory Operations)

RESPONSIBILITIES

At the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay, we strive to bring the world to Singapore through horticulture. We are looking for someone driven and passionate about flowers, design and creating immersive experiences to join our Conservatory Operations team.

As part of the team, you will combine creative thinking and horticultural knowledge to conceptualise, design, execute and maintain floral displays, that endeavours to transport visitors to different corners of the globe, blending elaborate props, storytelling, and stunning floral arrangements to celebrate diverse cultures and botanical wonders.

Your key responsibilities will include the following:

• Assist in the design, planning, and maintenance of changing floral displays, with a focus on creating engaging displays with visitors.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including horticulture vendors, international organisations and cultural groups to deliver high-quality floral displays.
• Manage multiple stakeholders and coordinate project timelines, budgets, and resources.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree or Diploma in a relevant discipline, preferably with 2 years' of relevant work experience in a relevant field of work (e.g. set design, visual arts, event styling, horticulture etc)
• Possess a keen and passionate interest in plants and gardening with a focus on exceeding visitor expectations
• Ability to work out innovative solutions to challenges which may arise
• Service-oriented team player who is prepared to be hands‑on
• Experience in horticulture, plants and flowers would be an advantage
• Strong oral and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to build relationships and cultivate collaborations and partnerships will be an advantage
• Good knowledge of various computer software and applications including Microsoft Office
• Able to work outside of normal operating hours for occasional night landscape installation to meet departmental target dates and/or complete specific plant maintenance activities as well as cope with a dynamic working environment
• Flexible and willing to contribute in various ways to develop the Gardens into an attraction for all to own, enjoy and cherish
