Job summary

A leading aviation finance company based in Singapore is seeking an experienced finance professional to handle financial reporting and compliance. The successful candidate will manage accounts for subsidiaries, prepare management reports, and ensure adherence to international financial standards. This role requires a professional qualification in accounting, experience in international firms, and proficiency in English and business Mandarin. An understanding of financial practices in mainland China is advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Candidate must possess a professional qualification and a degree in Accountancy or Finance.
  • At least five years of post-professional qualification experience in an international accounting firm.
  • Experience in mainland China is required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the closing of monthly management accounts for designated subsidiaries accounts.
  • Prepare management reports and financial statements.
  • Coordinate the preparation of China MOF reporting.

Skills

Knowledge of international financial reporting standards
Effective communication in English and business Mandarin
Experience in international accounting

Job description

Reporting to Senior Vice President, Accounting & Reporting, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following :

Subsidiaries accounts
  • Supporting the closing of monthly management accounts for designated subsidiaries accounts.
  • Preparation of management reports for subsidiaries accounts.
  • Preparation of designated notes to accounts for AFS / IFS
  • Reviewing bank reconciliation for designated bank accounts
SS management accounts
  • Preparing monthly and year end accounts of SS and consolidation with accounts of BOC Aviation and submit to the relevant institutions within deadlines.
  • Preparing goodwill impairment testing for SS on an annual basis.
  • Liaising with BOCGI regarding the dividend payment to SS.
  • Liaising with external auditor on SS financial report.
  • Preparing monthly SS position Chart.
Regular financial reports requested
  • Reviewing / preparing designated financial reports requested on a monthly / quarterly / semi-annual / annual basis.

Coordinating the preparation of China MOF reporting (yearly and quarterly)

Head office requests ("HOR"s)
  • Handling temporary head office requests on financial information Seeking Disclosure Committee's approval, if the requests from the shareholders or regulators have not been pre-approved.
Internal controls and Compliance
  • Updating and ensuring compliance with Accounting and Reporting P&P and Company's internal controls and corporate governance. Ensuring compliance and timely submission of all requests.
MOF reporting
  • Yearly and quarterly reporting
  • Preparations of MOF reports
Automation of shareholder reporting
  • Automating regular financial reports requested to improve efficiency.
Audited / interim financial statements Chinese version
  • Reviewing the Chinese version of audited / interim financial statements and financial sections in financial results announcement
Audited / interim financial statements
  • Preparing assigned notes to audited / interim financial statements.
Budgeting & financial analysis
  • Assisting as required on the preparation of annual budgets, monthly forecasts, and long-term financial plans of profit, cash flows, and balance sheet of the Group and its operating subsidiaries.
Ad-hoc
  • Ad hoc projects or tasks as assigned by the Head / Deputy Head of Accounting & Reporting or CFO.
Job Requirements
  • Candidate must possess a professional qualification (CA, CPA, or equivalent) and a Degree in Accountancy or Finance from a recognized university, with strong knowledge of international financial reporting standards.
  • At least five years of post-professional qualification experience in international accounting firm, or at least three years of working experience in international accounting firm with at least five years of working experience in MNC. At least three years of working experience in mainland China. Working experience in a bank or a large MNC reporting to holding company in China is an advantage.
  • Able to communicate, both oral and written, effectively in English and business Mandarin.
