M&E Project Engineer

Job summary

Antares Management Services seeks an experienced M&E Project Engineer to manage and coordinate mechanical and electrical works for building and construction projects. Work closely with the project team, consultants and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget and to required standards.

Candidates with cleanroom, laboratory or other controlled-environment project experience will have an added advantage.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant building/construction experience.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, specs and M&E documentation.
• Familiarity with BIM, CAD or Autodesk Construction Cloud is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor M&E works to ensure timely project completion.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors and internal teams on technical, site and quality matters.
• Review construction drawings, shop drawings and technical submissions.
• Identify design discrepancies and coordinate resolutions with relevant parties.
• Ensure M&E installations comply with drawings, specs and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor site progress, workmanship and subcontractor performance.
• Coordinate inspections, testing and commissioning activities.
• Maintain inspection records for materials and completed works.
• Track variations and cost implications, updating the Project Manager.
• Implement cost-control measures to support project budget.
• Work with QA/QC to meet project quality requirements.
• Ensure site activities comply with the Project Quality Plan and safety requirements.
• Proactively identify and address quality, safety, environmental and delivery risks.
• Support adoption of digital tools to improve coordination and workflows.

About the Role

You will work closely with the project team, consultants and subcontractors to ensure works are completed safely, on schedule, within budget and according to the required technical and quality standards.

Candidates with cleanroom, laboratory or other controlled-environment project experience will have an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and monitor M&E works to ensure timely project completion.
• Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams on technical, site and quality matters.
• Review construction drawings, shop drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
• Identify design discrepancies, site constraints and coordination issues, and work with the relevant parties to resolve them promptly.
• Ensure M&E installations comply with approved drawings, project specifications, contractual requirements and applicable regulations.
• Monitor site progress, workmanship and subcontractor performance.
• Coordinate inspections, testing and commissioning activities.
• Maintain inspection records covering materials, installations and completed works.
• Track variations, claims and their cost implications, and provide timely updates to the Project Manager.
• Implement cost-control measures to support delivery within the approved project budget.
• Work with the QA/QC team to ensure that project quality requirements are met.
• Ensure site activities comply with the Project Quality Plan and environmental, workplace safety and health requirements.
• Proactively identify and address potential quality, safety, environmental and project-delivery risks.
• Support the adoption of digital tools, including BIM, CAD and Autodesk Construction Cloud, to improve coordination and streamline project workflows.
• Report to the Assistant Site Manager and Construction Manager.

Requirements

• Degree in Building Services, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in building and construction projects.
• Good knowledge of M&E installation, coordination, testing and commissioning processes.
• Able to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications and M&E documentation.
• Strong coordination, problem-solving and stakeholder-management skills.
• Comfortable working in a site-based environment.
• Experience in cleanroom, laboratory or controlled-environment projects is advantageous.
• Familiarity with BIM, CAD or Autodesk Construction Cloud is advantageous.
