Job summary

NAKANO SINGAPORE (PTE) LTD is seeking an experienced M&E professional to support the M&E Manager in coordinating the site team, vendors and consultants across ACMV, electrical, fire protection, and associated building services. The role focuses on planning, QA/QC, and timely execution of M&E works on commercial or industrial projects.

You will lead weekly M&E coordination meetings, review shop drawings and RFIs, and ensure safety and compliance with local authorities.

Qualifications

  • 7–8 years of relevant M&E construction experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience with Main contractors or M&E contractors.
  • Experience managing M&E works for commercial, industrial, mixed development or institutional projects.
  • Proven experience in M&E systems installation, coordination, testing and commissioning.
  • Proven experience in ACMV, Electrical, Fire protection & alarm, sanitary plumbing & gas, Lifts & escalators, swimming pool.
  • Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder management skills.
  • Able to work independently and drive project deliverables with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • To assist the M&E Manager in coordinating and supervising the M&E site team, including engineers and coordinators, in planning and execution of M&E works.
  • Coordinate with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers on shop drawings, samples, method statements, and RFIs, updating all parties on changes.
  • Attend project and safety meetings and resolve site/technical issues for progress.
  • Supervise site M&E engineers and supervisors to ensure compliance with drawings and specs; manage rectifications.
  • Conduct weekly M&E meetings with subcontractors to ensure proper sequence and avoid clashes.
  • Monitor site progress and QC through inspections; escalate unresolved issues.
  • Assist Project Manager in planning M&E schedules and manpower to meet milestones.
  • Review subcontractor submissions, progress claims, variations, measurement sheets and approvals.
  • Coordinate with consultants/contractors for Testing & Commissioning so site is ready for inspections.
  • Ensure site safety and WSH compliance with risk assessments and permit-to-work systems.
  • Prepare M&E progress reports and maintain project documentation.
  • Ensure quality standards including ISO 9000/14001, OHSAS 18001, Green Mark and Buildability Score are met.
  • Compile accurate project documentation for completion and DLP; develop Value Engineering cost-down proposals.

Job description

Job Descriptions:
  1. To assist the M&E Manager in coordinating and supervising the M&E site team, including engineers and coordinators, in the planning and execution of M&E works.
  2. To coordinate with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers on shop drawings, samples, method statements, technical submissions and RFIs, and keep all involved parties updated of the latest changes.
  3. To attend project / technical / safety coordination meetings and resolve site and technical issues with owners / consultants for the site progress to proceed smoothly.
  4. To supervise site M&E Engineers and supervisors to verify that work done on site is in accordance with the approved drawings / specifications / authorities’ requirements and ensure that the subcontractors carry out rectification for non-compliance.
  5. To conduct minimally weekly M&E meetings with the M&E subcontractors to ensure their work is in proper sequence and ensure site supervisors are aware of the work sequence to avoid clashes of site activities.
  6. To monitor site progress and workmanship quality through inspections and QA/QC checks, and elevate unresolved issues to the M&E Manager / Project Manager.
  7. To assist the Project Manager in planning and managing M&E schedules and manpower to meet project milestones and avoid clashes with other trades.
  8. To review subcontractor submissions, including progress claims, variation orders, measurement sheets and material approvals, and report key issues to the M&E Manager.
  9. To coordinate with consultants and contractors for equipment and combined services Testing & Commissioning (T&C) so that site is ready for authorities’ inspection.
  10. To ensure site safety and WSH compliance by enforcing risk assessments, safe work procedures and permit-to-work systems.
  11. Prepare M&E progress report or any other reports required by the client or consultants, and maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation.
  12. Check and ensure compliance with the requirements of all required quality standards including but not limited to ISO 9000, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, Green Mark and Buildability Score.
  13. To ensure that accurate project documentation, including QA/QC records, authority submissions, as-built drawings, and ISO-required documents are compiled accurately and completely for completion and DLP.
  14. Develop Value Engineering Cost Down proposals, including cost-effective solutions for M&E, and support proposed M&E work schedules and lead times.
Job Requirements:
