Job summary

A leading life sciences research firm in Singapore is looking for a Scientist (In-Vitro Operations) to establish and lead in-vitro toxicology studies. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a relevant discipline and at least 5 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include managing in-vitro studies, data analysis, and ensuring compliance with OECD GLP guidelines. This full-time role offers a salary range of SGD 7,000 – 8,500 with additional benefits in a regulated and quality-driven environment.

Role Overview

The Scientist (In-Vitro Operations) will be responsible for establishing, executing, and leading in-vitro toxicology and pharmacology studies in a regulated (OECD GLP) environment. The role supports regulatory studies, assay development, and the advancement of in-vitro capabilities aligned with the 3Rs principle.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish, execute, and optimize in-vitro toxicology and pharmacology studies in compliance with OECD GLP guidelines
  • Conduct and oversee cell-based assays, genotoxicity and cytotoxicity studies (e.g. Ames, NRU, MLA, Micronucleus)
  • Act as Study Director for assigned in-vitro studies, managing end-to-end scientific conduct, documentation, and reporting
  • Lead method development, validation, data analysis, and reporting for in-vitro assays
  • Provide technical expertise in flow cytometry (FACS), ELISA, biochemical and clinical pathology assays
  • Drive development of advanced in-vitro models, including 3D and organotypic cultures
  • Coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders, sponsors, and global teams on study execution and timelines
  • Support internal and external quality audits, inspections, and compliance activities
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • PhD in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Biology, or related discipline
  • 5 years relevant experience in in-vitro toxicology/pharmacology within CRO, R&D, or regulated research environments will be advantageous
  • Strong hands-on experience in:
    • Cell culture (cell lines and/or primary cells)
    • Cell-based assays (colorimetric, fluorescence, absorbance)
    • FACS assay setup from scratch
  • Proven experience in method development, data analysis, and scientific reporting
  • Good understanding of OECD GLP, FDA, ICH guidelines related to in-vitro studies
  • Experience leading or managing scientific projects preferred
