Job description
About the Opportunity

We are partnering with a fast-growing technology company to hire a Legal Counsel who enjoys working close to the business and thrives in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment. This role offers broad exposure across commercial contracts, employment law, data protection, and regional compliance, with direct impact on business operations across multiple jurisdictions.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on legal professional who prefers an in‑house, business‑partnering role rather than purely advisory work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide practical, day‑to‑day legal support to internal stakeholders across business, HR, finance, supply chain, and sales teams regionally.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements, including NDAs, vendor and procurement contracts, software licensing, distribution agreements, and hardware/service contracts.

  • Support corporate governance matters such as board resolutions, coordination with corporate secretaries, and ongoing subsidiary maintenance.

  • Advise on employment‑related matters, including employment contracts, probation and termination processes, workplace investigations, confidentiality and IP assignments, and employee data protection compliance.

  • Oversee data protection and privacy compliance (PDPA / GDPR), including review of SaaS and data‑processing agreements and cross‑border data transfers.

  • Develop, update, and maintain internal compliance frameworks and policies, including contract governance, export controls, internal controls, and risk management.

  • Work closely with external counsel on cross‑border legal issues, IP protection, regulatory compliance, and dispute management.

  • Support the development of legal templates, workflows, and internal processes to improve efficiency and risk control.

  • Deliver internal legal training on contracts, data privacy, compliance, and related topics.

  • Conduct KYC / AML checks and support regulatory compliance requirements where applicable.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized university.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant legal experience, with strong hands‑on exposure to commercial contracts, corporate matters, employment law, and compliance.

  • Prior experience in the technology sector is highly preferred; exposure to AI, cloud services, data centers, or infrastructure‑related businesses will be an advantage.

  • Proven experience drafting and negotiating technology‑related contracts.

  • Strong communication, analytical, and negotiation skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced, cross‑border environment.

  • Comfortable engaging with both internal stakeholders and external legal advisors.
