Job summary

Nanyang Kindergarten is seeking a diligent kitchen helper to support meal preparation and service for children and staff. You will follow safety procedures, maintain a clean workspace, and assist with deliveries and stock checks.

Experience in kitchens is advantageous; relevant hygiene certification is preferred. The role emphasises teamwork, attention to dietary guidelines, and consistent hygiene in a childcare setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of meals, snacks and drinks for children and staff.
• Wash, cut and prepare ingredients according to instructions.
• Assist with cooking and food portioning when required.
• Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, cooking equipment and kitchen surfaces.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Ensure food is stored properly and safely, following food safety and hygiene requirements.
• Assist with distributing meals and snacks to the children according to the kindergarten's procedures.
• Ensure children's meals are prepared and served according to the centre's dietary requirements and instructions.
• Check kitchen supplies and inform the supervisor when ingredients or cleaning supplies need replenishment.
• Dispose of food waste properly and keep rubbish bins clean.
• Assist with receiving and storing food deliveries.
• Carry out other kitchen-related duties as assigned by the Principal or Supervisor.
