Job summary

GIG COFFEE PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to support the Assistant/Chef with basic food preparation, washing and cutting ingredients, and packing takeout orders in a fast-paced cafe setting.

You will maintain cleanliness of preparation areas, sanitize surfaces, and ensure proper storage of supplies while following food safety guidelines. The role requires a positive attitude and reliability in a busy environment.

Qualifications

• Preferably with 1 year of relevant experience in general kitchen operations and food safety practices.
• Minimum primary school education and valid food safety course level 1 certificate.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Assistant/Chef in basic food and/or ingredient preparation (washing, peeling, cutting/slicing, chopping, heating up food).
• Wash, clean & dry kitchen dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other equipment.
• Pack takeout orders for customers.
• Clean and sanitize food preparation areas.
• Sweep and mop the floor and empty rubbish bins.
• Receive and store supplies and ingredients hygienically.
• Follow food safety and hygiene guidelines and standards.
• Other duties assigned as needed.

Job Responsibilities

• Assist the Assistant/Chef in basic food and/or ingredient preparation including washing, peeling, cutting/slicing, chopping, heating up food etc.
• Wash, clean & dry the kitchen dishes, utensils, pots, pans, chopping boards, kitchen equipment etc.
• Pack takeout orders for customers
• Clean and sanitizing the food preparation areas
• Sweeping & mopping the floor and empty the rubbish bins
• Receive and store supplies & food ingredients in appropriate & hygienic ways
• Followed all food safety & hygiene guidelines and standards.
• Other duties assigned as needed
