Role Summary

The Junior Technician will support daily technical operations, focusing primarily on the maintenance, inspection, and servicing of gas cylinders. This role ensures cylinders are handled safely, maintained to quality standards, and prepared for distribution or operational use.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine inspection, servicing, and maintenance of gas cylinders, including cleaning, testing, and valve checks
  • Support cylinder repair and refurbishment, such as replacing faulty parts, seals, and valves
  • Conduct pressure and leak testing in accordance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Ensure proper cylinder labelling, tracking, and documentation of maintenance records
  • Assist in maintaining cylinder storage areas to ensure safe and organised handling
  • Identify and report cylinder defects, wear, or safety risks to supervisors
  • Follow all workplace health and safety (WHS) protocols and operational guidelines
  • Support other technical or operational duties as assigned
Skills & Qualifications
  • Minimum NITEC / Diploma in Engineering, Mechanical, Industrial, or related technical field
  • Strong interest in hands-on technical work and cylinder servicing
  • Basic understanding of mechanical components (especially valves and pressure systems)
  • Safety-conscious mindset and ability to follow standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Team player with good communication skills
  • No prior experience required; on-the-job training will be provided
Working Conditions
  • May involve standing for extended periods and working with maintenance tools and testing equipment
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times
