Job summary

Gentco Logistics is expanding its Global IT team in Singapore and invites a junior Project/Product Manager to own business applications and data projects end-to-end, working with engineers, analysts and business users across the group.

You will begin under a senior project lead on a cross-functional initiative to build a data-driven decision hub for tanker shipping, gathering requirements and driving delivery to adoption.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree; fresh graduates welcome, with maritime, supply chain, business analytics, or engineering backgrounds.
• Smart, adaptable, and quick to learn new tools, domains, and people.
• Strong willingness to learn tanker shipping and tank container logistics.
• Clear written and verbal English communication; Mandarin an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Support projects through their lifecycle, turn ideas into proposals, track execution.
• Gather requirements from internal and external users and document them.
• Collaborate with global engineering and data teams to deliver business applications.
• Define KPIs and measure project outcomes, run user surveys.
• Maintain current status and documentation in Confluence, Linear.
• Promote knowledge sharing and best practices in documentation.

TheOpportunity

The JuniorProject/Product Manager position is a part of the Global IT Department, whichis directly overseen by the Group’s CIO. Our team currently comprises over 40IT, software, and data professionals primarily based in Shanghai and Moerdijk(the Netherlands). With our IT presence in Singapore rapidly expanding, we areexcited to invite you to join our team!

What You WillWork On

Our project managersown business applications and data projects end-to-end, working with ourengineers, analysts, and business users across Gentco. As an example of thekind of work involved: we are currently building a decision-making hub for ourtanker shipping division, bringing together data from our shipping systems, theinternal and external data needed for commercial and operational decisions, andthe algorithms and people that make those decisions. A project like this meansgathering requirements from chartering and operations teams, working with ourdata engineers and analysts on what to build, and driving delivery through toadoption.

As a junior, you wouldwork alongside a senior project lead on a project like this: owningworkstreams, gathering requirements, keeping the plan and documentationcurrent, and growing into running projects (or owning a product) yourself.

Over time, this rolecan grow in two directions: becoming the Product Manager for one of ourdivisions (deep familiarity with its users and a broader portfolio ofapplications), or moving into project management of larger cross-companyprojects (CRM, our core operating platforms).

JobResponsibilities

• Support projects through their entire lifecycle:help turn ideas into project proposals, track execution, chase down blockers,and run retrospectives and documentation on completion.
• Gather and document requirements from internal andexternal users; learn the business applications you support well enough to takeownership of parts of them.
• Work collaboratively with our global engineeringand data teams to deliver and improve business applications in a highlyiterative pattern.
• Learn to take a quantitative approach to projectand product management: help define KPIs and metrics for project outcomes, andrun user surveys and interviews.
• Keep project status, decisions, and documentationcurrent in our project tooling (Confluence, Linear) so stakeholders acrossShanghai, Moerdijk, and Singapore stay aligned.
• Promote a culture of organizational learning byfacilitating knowledge sharing and best practices in documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, fresh graduates welcome; open tomost majors, with maritime, supply chain, business analytics, or engineering asnatural fits
• Smart, adaptable, and a quick learner; comfortablepicking up new tools, domains, and people fast
• Strong desire and ability to learn our industry (tanker shipping and tank container logistics) and its operating/business models
• Clear written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical audiences
• Professional fluency in English
• Professional fluency in Mandarin is an added advantage to effectively liaise with Chinese-speaking counterparts.
• Highly motivated, with a proactive approach to taking ownership of tasks and following through

DesirableQualities

• Internship or project experience in maritime,supply chain, logistics, or analytics
• Exposure to project management tooling (Linear, Jira, Confluence, Notion, or similar)
• Basic data skills (Excel, SQL, or Python)
