Job summary

Gentco Logistics is expanding its Global IT footprint and seeking a Project/Product Manager to own end-to-end business applications and data projects with engineers, analysts, and business users across multiple regions.

You will drive cross-functional initiatives, design KPIs, and ensure timely delivery while learning the tanker shipping and tank container logistics domains. Mandarin is a plus, and English fluency is required.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as a project/product/program manager or in maritime logistics with cross-functional delivery experience.
• Willingness to learn the tanker shipping and tank container logistics domains.
• Fluency in English; Mandarin is a plus for liaising with Chinese-speaking counterparts.

Responsibilities

• Take projects through their lifecycle from idea refinement to proposal, planning, execution and documentation.
• Understand users, markets and competition; own specific business applications and outcomes.
• Collaborate with global engineering and data teams to deliver and improve business applications.

The Project/ProductManager position is a part of the Global IT Department, which is directlyoverseen by the Group's CIO. Our team currently comprises over 40 IT, software,and data professionals primarily based in Shanghai and Moerdijk (theNetherlands). With our IT presence in Singapore rapidly expanding, we areexcited to invite you to join our team!

What You WillWork On

Our project managersown business applications and data projects end-to-end, working with ourengineers, analysts, and business users across Gentco. As an example of thekind of work involved: we are currently building a decision-making hub for ourtanker shipping division, bringing together data from our shipping systems, theinternal and external data needed for commercial and operational decisions, andthe algorithms and people that make those decisions.

Beyond your firstproject, this role can grow in two directions: becoming the Product Manager forone of our divisions (deep familiarity with its users and a broader portfolioof applications), or moving into a senior project management role driving largercross-company projects (CRM, our core operating platforms) and shaping how werun projects globally.

JobResponsibilities:

• Take projects through their entire lifecycle:refine promising ideas into project proposals, plan and oversee execution,ensure quality and timeliness, and run retrospectives and documentation oncompletion.
• Understand users (internal and external), markets,and competition in depth; take ownership of specific business applications andresponsibility for the end result.
• Work collaboratively with our global engineeringand data teams to deliver and improve business applications in a highlyiterative pattern.
• Embody a quantitative approach to project andproduct management: design unbiased KPIs and metrics to justify projectoutcomes, and regularly survey or interview users for feedback.
• Keep project status, decisions, and documentationcurrent in our project tooling (Confluence, Linear) so stakeholders acrossShanghai, Moerdijk, and Singapore stay aligned.
• Promote a culture of organizational learning byfacilitating knowledge sharing and best practices in documentation.

Requirements:

• 2+ years as a project, product, or program manager with hands-on use of modern project management tooling; or 2+ years in maritime logistics or supply chain with demonstrable experience leading cross-functional deliveries
• Strong desire and ability to learn our industry (tanker shipping and tank container logistics) and its operating/business models
• Comfortable communicating across technical andnon-technical audiences; able to translate business needs into clearly scopedrequirements
• Professional fluency in English
• Professional fluency in Mandarin is an added advantage to effectively liaise with Chinese-speaking counterparts.
• Highly motivated, with a proactive approach toproject ownership and accountability for outcomes and timelines

DesirableQualities:

• Previous work experience with B2B ERP/TMS systems
• Previous work experience in maritime logistics or shipping
• Experience on data or analytics projects (working with data engineers and analysts, defining KPIs)
• High-level knowledge of modern software architectures and DevOps principles
