Job summary

Gentco Logistics is seeking a Senior Data Analyst (PowerBI) to join our Global IT team in Singapore. You will design and deliver PowerBI dashboards and KPI definitions, translating business questions into scalable data solutions and owning data models on Azure Databricks.

You will collaborate with operations, finance, and commercial teams to drive data-driven decisions and governance across a multinational organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in data/BI roles.
• Strong proficiency in SQL, PowerBI, and Python.
• Fluent English; Mandarin is an added advantage.
• Able to translate business needs into data solutions.
• Experience with Databricks is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Use SQL + Python and statistical techniques to analyze historical datasets, uncover trends, detect anomalies, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Design and develop PowerBI dashboards, semantic models, and KPI definitions that serve global business needs across operations, finance, and commercial functions.
• Lead PowerBI-related requests from senior stakeholders; translate vague business questions into clearly scoped data work.
• Drive the continual improvement of our internal data models; own the SQL data models and transformations built on top of the data marts provided by data engineering (Azure Databricks).
• Proactively identify opportunities for dashboard consolidation, self-service analytics, and improved user experience across our PowerBI estate (~10 workspaces, ~30 semantic models, ~100 dashboards).
• Maintain strong documentation practices and encourage knowledge sharing across teams.

The Opportunity

The Senior Data Analyst(PowerBI) position is a part of the Global IT Department, which is directly overseen by the Group's CIO. Our team currently comprises over 40 IT, software, and data professionals primarily based in Shanghai and Moerdijk (the Netherlands). With our IT presence in Singapore rapidly expanding, we are excited to invite you to join our team!

Job Responsibilities:

• Use SQL + Python and statistical techniques to analyze historical datasets, uncover trends, detect anomalies, and support data-driven decision-making.
• Design and develop PowerBI dashboards, semantic models, and KPI definitions that serve global business needs across operations, finance, and commercial functions.
• Act as a lead point-of-contact for PowerBI-related requests from senior stakeholders; translate vague business questions into clearly scoped data work.
• Drive the continual improvement of our internal data models; own the SQL data models and transformations built on top of the data marts provided by data engineering (Azure Databricks).
• Proactively identify opportunities for dashboard consolidation, self-service analytics, and improved user experience across our PowerBI estate (~10 workspaces, ~30 semantic models, ~100 dashboards).
• Maintain strong documentation practices and encourage knowledge sharing across teams.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional experience in data/BI roles
• Strong proficiency in SQL (including data modeling and transformations), PowerBI, and Python
• Comfortable communicating across technical and non-technical audiences; able to translate business needs into data solutions
• Professional fluency in English
• Professional fluency in Mandarin is an added advantage to effectively liaise with Chinese-speaking counterparts.
• Highly motivated, with a proactive approach to project ownership and accountability for outcomes and timelines
• Experience with Databricks
• Interest or experience in tank container, chemical shipping, or bulk liquid logistics
• Experience in dashboard standardization, version control, or user training initiatives
