Job description

The Junior Procurement Engineer will support procurement activities for offshore oil and gas projects, ensuring timely sourcing, expediting, and delivery of materials and equipment in compliance with project requirements. This role involves vendor coordination, bid evaluation, PO management, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Procurement Execution
  • Prepare RFQs, issue inquiries, and coordinate technical clarifications with discipline engineers
  • Evaluate commercial bids, prepare CBEs, and support negotiation strategies
  • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor execution through delivery
Vendor Coordination & Expediting
  • Follow up on vendor documentation (drawings, ITPs) and ensure timely approvals
  • Expedite fabrication progress and delivery schedules in line with project milestones
  • Organize and participate in vendor meetings (Kick-Off, ITP, FAT)
Reporting & Documentation
  • Maintain procurement status reports and update progress against project schedules
  • Support procurement audits and ensure compliance with company procedures
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors and fabrication yards to resolve technical and compliance issues
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement
  • Oil & Gas sector experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working for Oil & Gas EPC’s
  • Proficiency in written and spoken Mandarin to effectively communicate with headquarters in China, liaise with vendors based in China, and translate procurement documentation in mandarin
  • Prior experience working with China EPC/Yards preferred
  • Must be willing to travel overseas for extended periods
