Job description

Kita is a youth development nonprofit using person‑centric and participatory practices to return agency to youths and their communities. We support youths from under‑resourced backgrounds through community gatherings, personal exploration opportunities, and structured career programmes that prepare them for meaningful employment. As we continue building on our six years of impact, we’re strengthening our team of 10‑15 to deepen our work across three interconnected programme modalities.

Kita Studios is our targeted career programme designed to prepare youths from diverse backgrounds to enter meaningful industries. We currently operate a Digital Marketing track serving 40 youths annually, providing industry‑level training, portfolio development, and job placement support with validated outcomes showing significant income increases and employment stability.

We’re looking for a Head of Studios who will take full ownership of our Digital Marketing Studios programme while advancing its integration within Kita’s broader ecosystem. Reporting to the Director of Programmes, you’ll lead all aspects of programme delivery from referrals through to job placements, working alongside our social worker and cross‑functional team to ensure holistic youth support. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen a proven career development programme while shaping how it connects with our experimental Labs and community‑building Space initiatives.

Manage and optimise Digital Marketing Studios operations
  • Lead end‑to‑end programme management from referrals to classroom experience to learner management and job placements
  • Coordinate with industry trainers and manage the learning experience for 40 participants annually
  • Build and maintain high‑trust relationships with social sector partners for referrals and wraparound support
  • Collaborate with our social worker to provide holistic support for youths from complex backgrounds
  • Engage with employer partners, providing updates and following up on job placements to ensure successful transitions
Drive curriculum iteration and programme excellence
  • Lead curriculum development and iteration, including integration of AI tools and emerging industry practices
  • Review data from each batch and analyse learner outcomes to identify improvement opportunities
  • Implement continuous improvements based on youth feedback, industry trends, and outcome analysis
  • Develop and refine programme frameworks that balance skill‑building with youth agency and ownership
  • Contribute to Studios‑specific MEL systems to track impact and inform strategic decisions
Integrate Studios within Kita's programme ecosystem
  • Work with programme staff to develop pathways for youths who are not yet ready for Studios, connecting them to Labs and Space modalities
  • Collaborate with programme staff to develop alumni engagement strategies that leverage Labs and Space to support ongoing growth
  • Work with other programme leads to create seamless transitions and integrated support across modalities
  • Facilitate connections between Studios participants and the broader Kita community
Support organisational growth and development
  • Provide input on the development of new Studios tracks based on community needs and industry opportunities
  • Manage team members including Assistants and Associates supporting Studios delivery
  • Proactively identify opportunities to strengthen programme impact and youth outcomes
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional team to ensure integrated support across all programme areas
What we offer
  • Direct involvement in youths' career journeys and the deeply rewarding experience of witnessing professional growth unfold
  • Leadership role in a proven programme while shaping innovative integration with emerging initiatives
  • Trust‑based work arrangement with flexibility and autonomy in how you work, with accountability focused on meaningful outcomes and impact
  • Professional development budget and industry conference attendance to support your own growth
  • Opportunity to contribute to organisational learning and the development of new programme offerings
We are looking for
  • 6+ years of experience in programme management, workforce development, youth development, education, or related field
  • Proven track record of managing end‑to‑end programmes from participant intake through to successful outcomes
  • Strong stakeholder management skills across social sector partners, employers, and funders
  • Experience in curriculum development and iterative programme improvement
  • Excellent team coordination and leadership abilities, comfortable managing both staff and external partners
  • Demonstrated commitment to person‑centric approaches that honour each individual's unique path
Additional qualities we value
  • Experience working directly with diverse populations, particularly under‑resourced communities
  • Understanding of participatory practices and youth‑centred programme design
  • Comfort working across different programme modalities without needing to be a specialist in any particular field
  • Proactive problem‑solving approach with strong initiative and ownership mindset
  • Genuine desire to journey alongside youths and support their holistic development
