A leading insurance company based in Singapore is seeking a Head of Operations to oversee the end-to-end operations of its insurance business. The role requires a strategic leader with at least 10 years of insurance industry experience, including 5 years in a senior management position. Responsibilities include driving operational excellence, process optimization, and ensuring compliance with Singapore's regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of insurance operations and demonstrated success in operational transformation.
The Head of Operations is responsible for leading the end-to-end operations of the insurance business. This role drives operational excellence, process optimization, and technology adoption to enhance efficiency, scalability, compliance, and customer experience. You will act as a strategic leader, ensuring operations effectively support business growth and aligns with MAS regulatory requirements.
Lead, mentor, and foster a customer-centric team with high performance standards.
Collaborate with senior management and across all other departments to align operational strategy with business objectives.
Contribute to corporate strategy by providing operational insights (through data and dashboards), cost optimization initiatives, and execution plans.
Continuously champion process re-engineering to ensure operational scalability.
Review, streamline, and standardize operational processes to resolve bottlenecks, improve accuracy and turnaround time.
Partner with Tech to drive the use of technology and digital tools for increasing automation and reducing manual processes.
Ensure all operational activities comply with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices.
Maintain strong controls to safeguard data integrity and customer information.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in the insurance industry, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership or management role.
Deep understanding of insurance operations (e.g. payments, underwriting support, policy administration, claims, servicing).
Strong understanding of Singapore insurance regulatory requirements (MAS).
Proven track record in operational transformation and technology adoption.
Experience implementing or enhancing insurance core systems and digital workflows.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
Strong people leadership and change management skills.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Professional insurance or process improvement certifications are an advantage.
