Job summary

GovTech in Singapore seeks a Director/Deputy Director of Engineering to lead multiple teams in delivering secure, scalable digital services for the public sector. You will oversee standards, architecture, security, and end-to-end product lifecycles while mentoring leaders across squads.

You will balance rapid delivery with long-term sustainability, guide modernization, and drive collaboration with Product and Design to achieve measurable outcomes for citizens.

Qualifications

• Experience managing multiple engineering teams or large-scale technical projects, ideally in public sector context.
• Proven ability to design and maintain production-grade, reliable and secure systems.
• Experience managing internal teams and external vendor partnerships.
• Strong knowledge of DevOps and SRE practices and architectural principles.

Responsibilities

• Establish technical standards, frameworks, and security protocols across teams.
• Manage full product lifecycle from concept to deployment.
• Balance delivery with long-term system sustainability and reduce technical debt.
• Mentor Engineering Managers and Tech Leads to foster autonomy and high performance.
• Collaborate with Product and Design leadership to ensure alignment across functions.
• Articulate technical decisions and risks to senior stakeholders.
