Job summary

GovTech, Singapore's lead agency for Smart Nation initiatives, seeks an Engineering Leader to drive technical direction and product delivery for public-sector digital transformation. You will shape engineering strategy, roadmap and team growth while delivering high-availability software that serves everyday lives.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional partners on security and quality, and help recruit senior talent to strengthen GovTech’s product teams and public-good

Qualifications

• Experience leading large, high-availability software systems.
• Proficiency in modern full-stack web tech: Next.js/React.js and Java/TypeScript on backend.
• Strong leadership and soft-skill capabilities beyond tech.
• Passion for engineering excellence and teamwork.
• Interest in public good and public sector impact.
• Ability to guide a team to achieve important goals.
• 10+ years coaching developers and growing careers.

Responsibilities

• Define your team’s engineering vision and strategy.
• Partner with stakeholders to prioritize and manage roadmaps.
• Create long-term technical plans and update roadmaps regularly.
• Mentor engineers and guide professional growth.
• Collaborate on quality, reliability, and security strategies.
• Initiate engineering initiatives to maximise impact for public good.
• Establish practices and tools to boost engineering culture and effectiveness.
• Assist with recruitment of senior hires.
